Vision Source began as a discount optical, named Value Vision,  that was part of a chain of stores in the Tampa Bay area. Dr. Laura Vizzari moved from Massachusetts to Florida in 2002, just after she graduated from New England College of Optometry and received her license to practice optometry in Florida. She began working as an independent optometrist at Value Vision almost immediately. The business had just relocated, and there were days when only one or two patients would come in the store. The owner of the three surviving Value Visions had difficulties maintaining the businesses, so he sold the three businesses to three separate parties. Dr. Laura Vizzari purchased the Brandon location in May 2004, which was then located in a strip mall on Lumsden Rd.

Purchasing the business opened up a lot of opportunities for the practice to grow! When a practice is doctor-owned, there are many more vision insurances that can be accepted, so appointments began filling up. Dr. Vizzari wanted to make Value Vision more than a discount optical, so she began to build on the selection of frames and the quality of the service provided. Patients were very happy with the detailed eye exam from the doctor, the excellent service from the knowledgeable staff and the quality of the products they received. Our word of mouth referrals began to grow!

In 2 short years, the practice had grown enough to add another doctor, so Dr. Ana Quintero joined the business in 2006. The layout of the office was preventing more business growth, as there was only one exam room. Forunately, a new office park was being built at the same time just down the street. Dr. Vizzari purchased a building in the park and was able to design the interior layout. In October 2007, the practice relocated to the new location on Nikki View Drive. Along with the beautiful new building with customized interior, we now have three exam rooms!

In 2011, Dr. Vizzari joined Vision Source, a premier network of private practice optometrists.  The network allowed her to improve the quality of her practice and customer service.  In 2012, we officially changed our name to Vision Source to better reflect what we are all about!

We are a private optometry practice that continues to grow. Our success has occurred from hard work of the owner and the devoted staff, and of course by the word-of-mouth referrals from our loyal patients. We are always striving for excellence in patient satisfaction and we continue to make changes to our services in order to stay current and patient-friendly.
